History, Mission and CharterThe Central Mass Thunder (CMT) softball program is dedicated to providing a challenging and rewarding environment for success. Our success is to be measured not only by the results on the field, but by the process.
Building softball teams that compete at the highest level demands respect for the game and its participants; it requires dedication and service to each other. All Central Mass Thunder players are expected to be fully engaged as mental, emotional and physical teammates. The coaching staff aspires to provide their team members with tools and training to develop outstanding softball skills and an appreciation of sportsmanship – win or lose. Our coaches will instill a sense of pride in performance and be dedicated to constructive correction that leads to the most important factor in competitive softball – EFFORT. Coaches also expect that a player’s effort will reach well beyond the field of play - to school, and to family responsibilities. Specific team expectations and regulations / rules will be delivered to players and parents by individual head coaches / team leaders. |
Director's MessageCentral Mass Thunder is a fastpitch softball organization based in Uxbridge, MA. Fielding teams at the 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U, and 18U levels, we participate in ASA, PONY, NSA, AAU, and USSSA tournaments throughout the spring, summer, and fall.
We created the Central Mass Thunder program to give young women in southern New England an opportunity long available to those in the southern and western parts of the US: a challenging level of softball that prepares them for national competition, as well as high school and college play. With up to two teams in each age group, CMT lets girls experience the new demands of an age group one year, and prepares them to be solidly competitive the next year. With coaches dedicated to teaching the game, the players learn all aspects and subtleties of the game. We augment that base by selecting skilled players from other towns in New England, making us a regional program that can compete with the best in the North East.
